New hearing set for the Life Recovery Center ~ The Board of County Commissioners have scheduled a special session for Thursday, April 24th at 9:00am, to decide on the zoning dispute for the operation of the Life Recovery Center.

The days leading up to Easter Sunday are sacred to many Christians, whether they live in homes or in the woods. For those who were not raised in the church, they can give occasion for curiosity. It even piques the interest of non-believers, wondering, “Who is this Jesus who would die for the world?” Local churches partnered with The Source again this year to offer information and celebration to our homeless and needy neighbors for Easter's holy week.

Hungry people are coming to The Source in droves. Our kitchen team ensures that more people can be fed without an increase in cost with the installation of a new dishwasher. Of course, we offer more than a soup kitchen, as each plate is served with lovin' from our oven.

The Source announces the grand opening of our new Heaven Sent Thrift Shoppe. We are excited to acquire an additional revenue stream for the ministry while offering high-quality discount shopping for the conscientious consumer. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place on February 6, 2008.

Once again, The 6th Annual Night of Hope brought out hundreds from across the community for an unforgettable evening of celebration.

Community connections are a vital part of The Source's outreach ministry. Field trips are a favorite way of helping clients experience hope for a new lifestyle that is in harmony with those around us. The recent Joyce Meyer conference provided us with an opportunity for personal growth on many levels.

Homeless Veterans Find Help At The Source ~ The statistics in regards to homeless veterans are appalling. The Source has veteran volunteers available to offer support and camaraderie.

Dodgertown Elementary Performs Christmas Concert ~ About 100 kindergartners sang Christmas carols at The Source on December 20, 2006. Judy Forgham, a Dodgertown kindergarten teacher and longtime Source volunteer, organized the event.

Our Most Recent Class of Alpha Graduates Celebrate ~ We took a field trip to the Church in the Woods and threw a "chocolate fountain" graduation party to honor the eleven students who just completed 24 weeks of Discipleship Training in September 2006.

Tom and Gaye King Awarded the Book of Golden Deeds ~ This compassionate couple has led The Source since 1999. Natives of Vero Beach, they have dedicated their lives to helping the needy of this community.

The Source Acquires Transitional Shelter ~ The Source will now move forward with its vision to facilitate a 24-hour residential recovery program

Preparing for Tropical Storm Ernesto~ Although the storm fizzled out before arriving in Vero, preparing for it served as an excellent drill for The Source and our homeless friends.

Showers Now Open at The Source ~ Another goal has reached fulfillment, and 243 showers were taken within the first six weeks after opening!
