Cold Night Shelter Information
Although The Source is not coded to provide overnight accommodations, we are able to open for shelter on cold nights.  We provide not only a safe place to stay but also a hot meal and a warm, friendly atmosphere.  The homeless are our guests and are treated to a very pleasant evening.

Conditions

The Source's Cold Night Shelter will open when the Vero Beach temperature is forecasted to be:

35°F or 40°F with rain

The official forecast is made through the Indian River County Emergency Management Division.
Decision for action will be made by 12:00 noon of a shelter day.

Information Center

The Indian River County Emergency Management Division provides a phone-in center for Cold Night Shelter status:

772-567-2129

Meals

A delicious hot dinner will be served at 6:00pm, and a light breakfast will be made available the next morning.  Coffee (and hot cocoa for the kids!) will also be on hand for our overnight guests.

Bedding

Blankets will be distributed to our Cold Night Shelter guests.  We have additional blankets available for cold weather handouts.
