Telling My Story About the Source In My Life

My name is Margaret Harris and my source number is 367 which means that I have been a part of the Source for a long time off and on throughout the years. The first time I came to this program was in 2018 when my family house had a kitchen fire and I had nowhere to go. They took me in with open arms and I embraced what they had to offer and they showed me that things happen to good people also. With that being said I looked into a lot of the resources that they offered and it worked for me and I was able to get a place with a roommate.

Now before I can tell you about me I have to tell you about the immediate staff that deals with me on a day by day basis with unconditional love, cause they know I’m “special” in so many ways. Well this time I came back it was under new management and the staff is wonderful, they are the most respectful, considerate group of people that they pu on the staff here, Ms. T Harrs (Taneka) is the first person I would like to send out special thanks to because Lord knows she is real patient with me and tells me when I’m doing too much and to calm down. She inspires me to keep striving for my goals of finding a place to ive and do something with my artwork cause she feels that I got talent.

I can always make Ms. Kathy laugh and when I needed something she would just say “Okay Ms. Harris,” and proceed ot help me. This weekend workers Ms Leanndra is always so polite and helpful and a good listener. Mrs Linda looks at me and smiles and asks if everything is okay. s. Harris with her big smile gives lots of needed energy to the members and staff. Ms. Joy is just a kind sould with my favorite color hair. Mr. Denise – He’s The Source king – a gentle understanding young man and so loveable. Kitchen staff works really hard to accommodate every member and staff while trying to feed everyone. I can go on and on about what wonderful love The Source members and staff have shown me.

In March I ended up here at The Source again. Time I came with a plan of survival and to be able to stand on my own two feet. My plans are finding a place to call mine and being able to afford my bills myself. Then to proceed to my artwork and t ry and make money to help me with being table in maintaining my income so I can have something put away for rainy days. I want to be an art teacher. I also want to be a living testimony or spokesperson for The Source to let every person know that there is hope, unconditional love and genuine concern for human welfare here at The Source with so many resources to help you endure and achieve what every person needs to accomplish. Being at The Source has given me those things I mentioned above. And I want to thank you for all of that.

Homeless, but Grateful,

Margaret (Precious) Harris
