Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that Charlene Morris has become The Source’s first Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. This marks the beginning of an incredible journey for us. In the upcoming months, our dedicated staff will undergo Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, equipping them with essential tools to effectively recognize, comprehend, and respond to our members facing mental health or substance use challenges. By doing so, we aim to reduce the risk of escalation or harm.
Through this comprehensive MHFA training, our team will gain a deeper understanding of various conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and self-injury. Armed with this knowledge, they will be well-equipped to provide the necessary support and resources to our members. Moreover, this innovative training will enhance mental health literacy and boost their confidence in assisting individuals in distress. Our staff will not only be able to support our members but also help one another in coping with challenges, reducing burnout, and fostering a positive work environment.
As we embark on this journey, The Source remains committed to expanding Mental Health First Aid training to the Indian River Community. Our goal is to spread the #BetheDifference mission of MHFA. Stay tuned for our monthly updates, as they will provide you with opportunities to join this movement and make a positive impact.
